When Suppgrade Labs founder Dave Asprey is asked which supplement he would take for the rest of his life if he could only choose one, his answer is always DAKE®. Not because it is trendy. Because it is the foundation everything else builds on.
So what makes it so essential? It comes down to one idea most supplements completely miss.
Vitamins D3, K2, A, and E are not four separate nutrients you happen to take in one capsule. They are a system. They work together, they depend on each other, and without all four present, each one does a fraction of what it is capable of.
Here is how it works.
Vitamin D3: The One Most People Are Deficient In
You have probably heard that most people are low in vitamin D. That is not an exaggeration.
Vitamin D acts more like a hormone than a vitamin in the body. It regulates your immune system, supports bone density, influences mood, and helps control inflammation. Research published in the Journal of Investigative Medicine confirms that low vitamin D is directly linked to increased autoimmunity and higher susceptibility to infection (source).
The problem is that our modern lives keep us indoors almost all the time. And here is something most people do not know: sunlight through a window does not count. Glass blocks UVB rays completely, which are the specific wavelengths your skin needs to produce D3. Research from Dr. Michael Holick at Boston University, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, confirms that vitamin D deficiency is an unrecognized epidemic in both children and adults (source).
People with darker skin tones are at even greater risk. Melanin reduces D3 production in the skin, meaning more sun exposure is needed to produce the same amount.
DAKE® uses D3 as cholecalciferol, the exact same form your body makes naturally from sunlight. But here is the catch: taking D3 without K2 is not just incomplete. It can actually send calcium to the wrong places. More on that next.
Vitamin A: The One D3 Cannot Work Without
Here is something most people do not realize. Vitamins A and D3 are not independent. They share the same gene-regulating pathways in the body and work together to control immunity, skin repair, and cellular function.
Taking D3 without adequate vitamin A is like trying to run a two-person operation with only one person. The system works, but not well.
Vitamin A also supports healthy vision, protects cells from oxidative damage, and plays a direct role in mitochondrial function. Studies show that A deficiency leads to mitochondrial dysfunction, which means less cellular energy across the board.
One important detail: not all vitamin A is created equal. The form found in vegetables like carrots (beta-carotene) has to be converted by the body before it can be used, and most people are not great at that conversion. DAKE® uses retinyl palmitate, which is the preformed version your body can use immediately with no conversion required.
Vitamin K1 and K2: Where Your Calcium Actually Goes
Think of K2 as the traffic controller for calcium.
When you take D3, your body absorbs more calcium. That is a good thing. But calcium needs direction. Without K2, it can end up depositing in your arteries and soft tissue instead of your bones. That is a very bad thing.
A review in Integrative Medicine explains that K2 activates a protein called matrix GLA protein, which physically blocks calcium from building up in arterial walls (source). Research published in Nutrients describes this as the "calcium paradox": low calcium in the bones and too much in the vessels, caused directly by K2 deficiency (source). A narrative review from Cleveland Clinic researchers published in Open Heart found that K2 supplementation is strongly linked to better cardiovascular outcomes by reducing arterial calcification and stiffness (source).
This is exactly why DAKE® includes both K1 and K2. K1 supports healthy blood clotting. K2 as MK-4 (menaquinone-4) does the heavy lifting on calcium direction, bone health, and heart protection. They are not interchangeable, and you need both.
Vitamin E Tocotrienols: The Protector
Most vitamin E supplements use something called alpha-tocopherol. It is the most common form and it provides basic antioxidant protection. DAKE® uses something significantly better.
Research from Ohio State University published in Vitamins and Hormones found that tocotrienols, a different subfamily of vitamin E, have powerful neuroprotective, cholesterol-lowering, and anti-cancer properties that tocopherols simply do not have. The researchers are clear: different forms of vitamin E are not interchangeable (source). A follow-up study published in the Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences showed that tocotrienol fed orally actually reaches the brain, and at very low concentrations it protects neurons in ways that tocopherol cannot (source).
Research in Food and Nutrition Research found that delta and gamma tocotrienols specifically are the most potent forms for reducing inflammation in human endothelial cells (source). And a two-year randomized clinical trial published in Stroke found that mixed tocotrienols actually slowed the progression of white matter lesions in the brain (source).
Beyond the brain and heart benefits, tocotrienols serve another critical role in DAKE®. They protect the other fat-soluble vitamins from oxidative breakdown, meaning D3, A, and K2 stay stable and usable longer. Without them, the whole system is more vulnerable.
DAKE® uses DeltaGold® delta and gamma tocotrienols. You will not find this in any standard multivitamin.
GG-Gold®: The Ingredient Most Formulas Skip
DAKE® also includes geranylgeraniol, or GG, sourced from the annatto tree. GG is a natural precursor to K2 production in the body. It supports cellular energy, reduces inflammation, and research shows benefits for bone health and blood sugar regulation.
It is the kind of ingredient most brands leave out because it adds cost. Suppgrade Labs includes it because it belongs in a formula that is actually built around the science.
Why the Liquid Capsule Matters
Here is the thing about fat-soluble vitamins. They need fat to absorb. That is literally why they are called fat-soluble. They cannot cross from your gut into your bloodstream without it.
Most supplements in powder capsule form drop all four of these vitamins into your gut and just hope dietary fat is present. Sometimes it is. Often it is not, especially if you take your supplements first thing in the morning without a meal.
DAKE® Liquid Capsule suspends all four vitamins in MCT oil so the fat carrier is already there. Every single dose. No guesswork. No relying on what you happened to eat. Same trusted formula, better absorbed.
It is one capsule a day. Best taken with food containing fat if you can, but the MCT oil means your body has what it needs regardless. And if you want to take things further, pair it with Minerals 101. DAKE® helps make sure your body directs minerals correctly. Minerals 101 gives it the raw materials to work with.
Warning: Vitamin K may adversely interact with blood thinners including Coumadin and warfarin. Consult your healthcare practitioner before use.
